P90X Update/Camping

Just wanted to do a quick update on the results I’m getting with P90X (lean). I am on week 8 (half way through!), and although I haven’t lost much weight, I do see a big difference in my body. I think I lost about 2 lbs since day 1, and right now my weight fluctuates between 111 and 112lbs. My arms and legs are less flabby and my stomach is smaller. I can fit into clothes a little better and I feel stronger, healthier, and the most fit I’ve felt in my life. For those of you who have been discouraged, I was ready to give up around week 4, 5 because I thought I wasn’t seeing results, but I’m glad I stuck to it because I really started seeing results around week 6. It started with my legs getting noticeably thinner. Then, I got a little discouraged again so I started additional running in week 7, and by now, I feel and see results more and more everyday. I am halfway through and hopefully I will continue the rest of the 45 days with even better, if not completely satisfactory results! It just feels great to get off my butt and actually do something for my health. :) Will keep you posted.

P.S. I also went camping over the weekend for the first time by the lake. I drove about 3 hours to get there and we went in a group of about 30 people. I only went for 1 night though. I started to feel dirty and missed my bathroom/shower at home, haha. As for makeup, I had a hard time deciding what to bring since I never went camping before, but decided on bringing minimal products. I brought Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder for sheer cover (I have some redness), Lingering brow pencil to lightly shape the brows, liquid eyeliner, and a tinted lipbalm for some color. So when the morning came, I was rushing, putting on my makeup in the tent, and made it look as natural as possible but when everyone was done getting ready I noticed that the other girls in our group had full on, black smokey eye/lashes/blush/powder/lipstick, even when we were about to go in the water! And to think, I thought I was the only one who was stressing about what I looked like! Next time, I’ll just pack whatever I please, haha. Overall, camping was a fun experience, and I would love to go again. It feels nice to get away into the peace and quiet once in a while.

Dexter

Hi everyone. I just signed up for Tumblr. I thought I’d keep you updated on random things in my life in case anyone’s wondering what I’ve been up to. Well, let’s get right down to it.

I got a puppy 2 months ago for my birthday. He is 4 months old, 4 lbs, and his name is Dexter. He is a Pomeranian. (I wanted a dog that looks like my Persian cat Alfie!) When I first got him he was only ~1 lb. He grew so fast! It has been a stressful few weeks, considering I’ve never owned a dog before, especially a puppy. Cats and dogs really are almost the polar opposite. Alfie is independent and will cuddle when he wants to, whereas Dexter wants human attention 24/7. I’ve had many sleepless nights the first few weeks due to his persistent crying. He has gotten better and can sleep through most of the night now, but when my boyfriend or I leave the room/house he starts barking like crazy. I’m hoping he’ll grow out of that since he is still a baby. We are in the process of potty training him, and took him off puppy pads last week. He has been peeing successfully in our backyard, but still hasn’t learned to pee outside when we take him for walks. He is a smart puppy though; at 9 weeks old we taught him how to sit, lay down, give his paw, and “jump” (he can’t do a full jump yet, he just stands). We’re pretty consistent with our training, so I hope he’ll become a very good dog. Dexter and Alfie get along (Alfie’s such a doll, he gets along with anyone); they play and lick each other, and when Alfie gets annoyed at Dexter’s hyperness, he’ll just go somewhere Dexter can’t get to, like down the stairs, or up on his cat tree. I often wonder if Dexter thinks Alfie is a dog, since they look alike… haha. Sometimes I talk Alfie along on walks, and he loves it. He loves being outside, just chillin’ at the park watching Dexter run around. The first time I took him, he purred for the rest of the day after we got home. :)

I’m still working with Seventeen magazine, and I do monthly beauty tutorials on seventeen.com. I’m also in the process of job hunting. My last job was at a beauty boutique and I was the top makeup artist there but the company didn’t do too well, so here I am looking for another job. I also want to record new Youtube videos, but I don’t really have any ideas. Ideas, anyone?

I started a workout regimen- P90X! I’m doing the lean version, to get toned. I never worked out a day in my life and have always felt out of shape so I finally got my butt up and pushed myself to set a fitness goal, not only for physical reasons, but health too. I’m relatively thin, but I have flab, so I’m trying to get rid of it and build some muscle in its place. Summer’s around the corner and I’m a little tired of hiding in dark long sleeve tops and sweaters. :\ I’m on week 3 of an intense 12 week program, and I feel like I’m in much better shape and would recommend this program to anyone—it really makes you sweat and I am exhausted after each workout. I haven’t seen physical results yet, but I’ll keep you posted. Alright, I’m going to do some Cardio X now, so I’ll talk to you again soon!
